From April 20 to 22, “the Belt and Road” China–Russia Sports Medicine Forum was successfully held in Guangzhou and Foshan. Initiated by Delta Medical, the event brought leading Russian sports medicine experts to China for in-depth exchanges across clinical practice, product innovation, and academic collaboration.
Hands-on Exchange at Delta Medical Guangzhou
The delegation first visited Delta Medical’s Guangzhou branch, where the company presented its development and core technologies. A hands-on workshop using synthetic bone models showcased key products, including shoulder and knee implants, a CrystalEyeTM 4K UHD Endoscopic Imaging System, and a EffiProTM
Power Resection System. Discussions focused on clinical applications and design optimization, with experts highly recognizing the product performance and innovation.
Academic Dialogue at Guangzhou Red Cross Hospital
At Guangzhou Red Cross Hospital, both sides engaged in academic exchange on shoulder surgery. Prof. Wang Wen presented on surgical options for anterior shoulder dislocation using bone block techniques, while Prof. Dmitrii Ilin shared insights on rotator cuff reconstruction. The sessions sparked active discussion and knowledge sharing.
The delegation also observed live surgeries, including rotator cuff repair procedures. Russian experts commended the surgical precision and teamwork demonstrated by Chinese clinicians.
Integrative Approach at Foshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine
At Foshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the delegation explored integrated treatment approaches combining traditional Chinese and Western medicine. The visit included clinical tours and surgical demonstrations covering complex cases such as massive rotator cuff tears, ACL/PCL injuries, and meniscus repair.
Director Zhao Lilian delivered a lecture on glenoid reconstruction techniques, while Prof. Ilin shared representative clinical cases, further enriching the exchange.
Advancing Global Collaboration in Sports Medicine
The forum provided valuable insights into China’s advanced clinical practices and hospital management systems. Through academic dialogue and surgical observation, both sides gained practical knowledge and strengthened mutual understanding.
