From August 17 to 21, 2026, the China-Mexico-Chile Sports Medicine Exchange and Cooperation Forum was successfully held. Organized by Delta Medical, the event invited sports medicine specialists from Mexico and Chile to visit China, where they toured Changchun and Harbin for a series of activities including hands-on bone model workshops, academic seminars, and surgical demonstrations. The forum established a collaborative platform for clinical, product, and academic exchange across the sports medicine fields of China, Mexico, and Chile.
Delta Medical | Co-Developing Innovative Products and Technologies
On August 17, the expert delegation from Mexico and Chile arrived and the program opened with a bone model technical exchange session, featuring hands-on practice on shoulder and knee bone models. During the session, Delta Medical’s Medical Education team presented key surgical techniques — including all-inside cruciate ligament reconstruction and rotator cuff repair — while the International Sales team simultaneously introduced the latest meniscus products, posterior meniscal root instruments, and the upgraded all-suture anchor product line. Physicians from all participating countries engaged in in-depth discussions on surgical techniques and clinical product experience.
Second Hospital of Jilin University | Sharing Clinical Expertise
Following the corporate visit, the delegation traveled to the Second Hospital of Jilin University, where the visit coincided with China’s Doctors’ Day. Chinese and international physicians jointly participated in the Doctors’ Day celebration.
In the academic session, Dr. Liu Xiaoning delivered a keynote presentation, Tips and Tricks in Arthroscopic Meniscal Surgery, sharing surgical techniques and clinical insights in arthroscopic meniscus procedures. International experts then presented their respective topics: Alvaro Rojas Troncoso presented Especialista en Cirugía de Rodilla; Fernanda Alvarez Rojas shared Clinical Cases Knee Surgery – Arthroscopy; and Paulo C. Guevara delivered a clinical case report titled Clinical Knee Cases.
After the presentations, Dr. Liu conducted live arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgical demonstrations. International physicians observed the procedures on-site and exchanged clinical perspectives on surgical details.
Harbin Fifth Hospital | Broadening International Clinical Horizons
The delegation then visited Harbin Fifth Hospital. Party Secretary Feng Dongfei warmly welcomed the international experts, followed by Hospital President Fang Yuli, who presented an overview of sports medicine development in Northeast China along with the hospital’s orthopedic department’s academic development and clinical strengths. Dr. Fang delivered a specialized presentation titled Factor Analysis of Key Considerations in Total Arthroscopic Ankle Fusion for Robot-Assisted Screw Placement Scenarios. International experts Alejandro Argüello Arevalo and Sergio Daniel respectively presented Orthopedic Surgeon Fellowship in Knee Surgery and Shoulder Surgeon, Instituto de Neurocirugía y Ortopedia, sharing multidimensional perspectives on sports medicine clinical practice and fellowship training experiences in their respective regions.
Beyond the academic exchanges, Dr. Fang performed multiple surgical demonstrations, including rotator cuff repair, anterior and posterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, and joint debridement. Visiting experts observed the surgeries on-site and engaged in detailed discussions regarding surgical strategies and intraoperative techniques.
Throughout the forum, international experts gained firsthand experience of clinical management models and the advancement of sports medicine technology in Chinese hospitals, gathering valuable clinical insights through hands-on practice, academic presentations, and surgical observation. The forum created a professional platform for mutual learning among orthopedic surgeons from different nations and injected fresh momentum into the continued development of the sports medicine industries in China, Mexico, and Chile.
